FAQ
How much is shipping? Flat rate for all regular orders $20. Additional charges may apply for bulk orders, expedited shipping or oversized shipments. When will my order ship? In-stock items like original paintings ship within 3-5 business days. Canvas prints are made to order and ship in about 3 weeks. Can I pick up my order instead? Sure! If you are local to West Chester, PA you may pick up your order at the studio. Just indicate on your order you would like to pick up and Abby will be in touch with all of the details. Are orders returnable? All orders placed online are returnable less return shipping charges. Items must be returned in original condition within 30 days. Custom commissions are non-returnable. To shop all currently available original paintings and prints click here What are cradled birch panels? Much of Abby's work is painted on cradled birch panels (as well as fine Belgian linen). A sheet of thin birch is adhered to a frame, or "cradle". The cradles come in different depths, typically Abby uses 3/4" deep. The birch wood is sanded very smooth and primed with gesso making it an archival support for painting. How long do commissions take? It depends on the size and the amount of detail. It is best to give Abby as much time as possible to work on commissions. For example, an 11" x 14" painting may take 1-3 months, and that may not include drying time or framing and shipping. Much more information on commissions here. What do commissions cost? They typically cost a bit more than "regular" paintings because much more time and effort is put into them to make sure they are perfect and the client is thrilled. Each quote is different and depends on the size and the amount of detail involved, the deadline as well as the cost of materials. Much more information on commissions here. Why should I give Abby my email address, or create an account on this site? You may see a pop-up while browsing the site asking for your email address. This is so Abby can periodically stay in touch about shows, new paintings or other news. Abby will never share your email or other personal information. |
NEWS
AUGUST 2024: Hope you all are enjoying your Summer :) Great news! My book is getting polished up as we speak and should be launching this Fall. I am really excited to share all of what I have learned on my own to sell over 900 paintings (and counting). The writing process has been truly wonderful. I am certain it will help other artists increase their sales. I have to admit, I am really enjoying my time off from painting, getting a lot of well-needed rest, too. I might have to get some shoulder surgery which will lengthen my hiatus from painting, but as long as it improves my current (painful) situation, I am all for it. More soon. APRIL 2024: Well, a lot has gone down in the last month....I'm having some new struggles with my bad eye and have decided to take some time off from painting to focus on my health. This coincides with the decision to let go of my lovely studio. However, there will be other studios. At the moment, commissions are not available. On a very positive note, I am finishing up my book which will be published soon. It is for artists, galleries and anyone else interested in learning how to increase art sales. Will let you know when that comes out! All the best and thanks for an incredible year at my epic studio. FEBRUARY 2024: We kicked off the month with a cool interview in Canvas Rebel Magazine- here is the link: https://canvasrebel.com/meet-abby-mcclure/studio And I am putting the finishing touches on a new creative project...my book I am writing! More on that soon. The studio will be closed for the forseeable future so I can complete a batch of new work. Thanks so much for your continued support! DECEMBER 2023: Happy holidays! The studio will be open by appointment until Dec 19 and closed Dec 20th-30th for vacation. See you in 2024! NOVEMBER 2023 I continue to be open Fridays 10-6 EXCEPT on Black Friday I will be closing early at 3. Sorry for the inconvenience. If there’s another day/time you’d like to pop in just shoot me a text 484.790.1007. Happy Holidays! AUGUST 2023 I am incredibly grateful for all who have visited me in the new studio/gallery since opening in April and for giving so many paintings new homes. It has been a true delight for me to connect with old friends and make new ones all the while doing what I love the most. My biggest challenge these days is keeping my walls filled with work! I have brought in some older traditional still life pieces on view now and also have a mix of framed plein air and studio work. There are a handful of lovely giclee prints on canvas. I am working on a new series of larger, brushier works on linen and have some more special projects on the horizon. Still open Fridays 10-6 or by appointment the rest of the week please call/text 484.790.1007 or email [email protected]. All the best and many thanks. APRIL 2023 Moving the studio again was not in the plan, but Abby saw a space that was too good to pass up! It is in her old neighborhood, downtown West Chester, PA. Mary Cassatt used to live in the building (prior to attending the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts) so it is infused with artistic history. It's a beautiful space you won't want to miss seeing it! Currently open Fridays 10-6 or by appointment please call/text 484.790.1007 or email [email protected]. See you soon in the new studio! |
