AUGUST 2023 I am incredibly grateful for all who have visited me in the new studio/gallery since opening in April and for giving so many paintings new homes. It has been a true delight for me to connect with old friends and make new ones all the while doing what I love the most. My biggest challenge these days is keeping my walls filled with work! I have brought in some older traditional still life pieces on view now and also have a mix of framed plein air and studio work. There are a handful of lovely giclee prints on canvas. I am working on a new series of larger, brushier works on linen and have some more special projects on the horizon. Still open Fridays 10-6 or by appointment the rest of the week please call/text 484.790.1007 or email abbymcclurestudio@gmail.com. All the best and many thanks. APRIL 2023 Moving the studio again was not in the plan, but Abby saw a space that was too good to pass up! It is in her old neighborhood, downtown West Chester, PA. Mary Cassatt used to live in the building (prior to attending the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts) so it is infused with artistic history. It's a beautiful space you won't want to miss seeing it! Currently open Fridays 10-6 or by appointment please call/text 484.790.1007 or email abbymcclurestudio@gmail.com. See you soon in the new studio! FAQ

To shop all currently available original paintings and prints click here What are cradled birch panels? Much of Abby's work is painted on cradled birch panels (as well as fine Belgian linen). A sheet of thin birch is adhered to a frame, or "cradle". The cradles come in different depths, typically Abby uses 3/4" deep. The birch wood is sanded very smooth and primed with gesso making it an archival support for painting. |
How long do commissions take? It depends on the size and the amount of detail. It is best to give Abby as much time as possible to work on commissions. For example, an 11" x 14" painting may take 1-3 months, and that may not include drying time or framing and shipping. Much more information on commissions here. What do commissions cost? They typically cost a bit more than "regular" paintings because much more time and effort is put into them to make sure they are perfect and the client is thrilled. Each quote is different and depends on the size and the amount of detail involved, the deadline as well as the cost of materials. Much more information on commissions here. Why should I give Abby my email address, or create an account on this site? You may see a pop-up while browsing the site asking for your email address. This is so Abby can periodically stay in touch about shows, new paintings or other news. Abby will never share your email or other personal information. |
