"I have been traveling to Newport, RI (from Pennsylvania) to sketch and paint the beautiful, rocky coastline and sea. I am inspired by the maritime history, the light, weather, clouds, atmosphere and the feel of this exquisite area. After a long day painting you are sure to find me in town enjoying some local fare at The Mooring, 22 Bowen's, Clarke Cooke House, Bouchard's or The Whitehorse Tavern. I am sure Newport will be a subject for many years to come and I look forward to exploring some of its lesser known areas and hidden gems to capture in paint."

"Late Afternoon at Brenton Point" is a 12" x 24" original oil on cradled birch panel, framed in a wide, antique gold wood frame, wired and ready to hang. There is a black floating space between the frame and the edge of the piece, creating a dramatic presentation. The overall framed dimensions are 21.75" x 33.75". Signed by the artist Abby McClure. The paint used is Charvin fine French oil paint, varnished in Gamblin cold wax and buffed to a soft satin finish. Archival.
